REED RACING’S EXPLOSIVE START TO CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

The weekend was off to a shaky start, when rain begun Thursday evening and continued throughout Friday, leading to the cancellation of Friday’s schedule. But the forecast for the remaining weekend was a positive one for the racers and also the fans.

Group 1 would now only have 2 qualifying sessions to cut the 10 cars entered to an 8 car field ready for eliminations.

The setup changes that the Reed team had applied seemed positive when 1^st qualifying session the funnycar runs the quarter mile with a 5.63 ET placing them in 4^th position. After qualifying was complete the Allstar Batteries funnycar remained in 4^th position.

The weather was great, the crowd was growing, and Sunday was eliminations.

REED RACING KICKS OFF NEW CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

It's all kicking off in September at Sydney Dragway for the season opener of ANDRA Pro Series Drag Racing with the FUCHS Nationals this weekend.

Reed Racing will be making the haul down to NSW with only Steve's funnycar on board for this season. Ready to race with the intent to turn around last season's bad run of misfortune.

Not only has last season given them lots of data but it was also the opportunity to experiment. Now that some of that is out of the way, the off season was spent back at the computer studying and analysing. Ready to put all this on track to be in with a shot this weekend.

Winternationals Rain-out

The unpredictable weather continued throughout Queensland when drag racers from all over Australia travelled to Willowbank Raceway to compete in the season finale.

This year’s new format had qualifying begin on Friday with group 2 & 3 kicking it off in the clear skies, Saturday continued with qualifying and some categories getting the opportunity to begin eliminations.

Group 1 qualifying got underway on Saturday. This year’s Top Alcohol category would have 14 Dragsters and Funnycars competing for the 8 car field. Everyone knew they would have to bring everything they’ve got to just get into the 8 car field. Would it be the fastest Top Alcohol field we’ve seen yet???

Top Alcohol Allstar Winners

Just a quick article to let our viewers know that we have winners in the Allstar Batteries / Reed Racing team!

On March the 25th and 26th Willowbank Raceway held the Top Alcohol Meeting.

2 racers of the Supercharged Outlaw class made it to the finals and battled for the trophy. Those racers would be Fiona Keating and Matt Watts.

It was a nail biting race, that had everyone from both teams, and families on the edge of their seats! Especially considering that Fiona and Matty are great friends, and family related! Fiona being the partner of Daniel Reed, and Matty being the husband to Sally Reed, it had us all holding our breath.

Matt won the final round, leaving Fiona runner up. But none the less we all had something to celebrate.

Well done to both of our racers! :) You continue to do us proud.
